River cruise expert not only for France
The French houseboat rental company FPP – Les Canalous has been on the market for more than forty years. From a small group of enthusiasts who believed that the country is best explored from the deck of a boat has emerged the largest houseboat rental company in Europe with more than 300 houseboats of various categories and classes. The highest class is Premium, where you will find the most comfortable and spacious boats with the maximum possible equipment, followed by the Classic class, which includes most of the easy to handle boats with medium equipment designed for a normal family holiday. There is also a low-cost Economy class. In addition, FPP also offers houseboat rentals specially adapted for the needs of disabled people.
Eco-friendly houseboats
The pride of FPP – Les Canalous is the new generation of La Péniche S electric houseboats. This fleet has been designed with the environment in mind – it sails entirely on electric power, is quiet, great to handle, has a hybrid cockpit, all combined with a very cosy interior that can comfortably accommodate up to 10 people (5 cabins, 4 bathrooms).
One-way routes allowed
You can sail on FPP houseboats for a week or two, but also just for a weekend or a so-called "short week", which is usually from Monday to Friday. The company's clients appreciate that, in addition to the normal circuits (round trip), there are also 22 one-way routes on offer, where you can pick up the boat at one base and return it to another. If you are interested FPP will take care of transporting your car to your destination.
Houseboats throughout Europe
Throughout Europe you will find 49 FPP – Les Canalous bases, from where you can set sail with your houseboat. The company's domain is of course its native France, where almost all departments can be explored on the rivers and canals. Houseboat bases await "water tourists" in Burgundy (south and south-west), Brittany, Anjou, Alsace-Lorraine and the Ardennes. But also the Charente, the French Comte, the Camargue and, of course, you can sail on the famous Canal du Midi.
