Carefree sailing with YiS
"You sail, we take care." says the popular Italian charter company Yachting in Sardinia (YiS), which prides itself on having a team made up entirely of professional yachtsmen. As the name suggests it is a specialist in Italy's largest island in the Mediterranean: Sardinia.
Sardinia has a very rugged coastline with lots of bays and small islands – a perfect area for sailing. The waters of the Emerald Coast have a colour you won't find anywhere else in Europe. Not only are they incredibly clear, but the temperature is just right, "neither coffee nor ice". The beaches here are often compared to those in the Caribbean – especially in the south of Sardinia.
3 marinas in the north of Sardinia
The company's charter base is in Marina di Portisco, right in the heart of the Emerald Coast in north-west Sardinia. However, you can also sail from the famous resort of Porto Rotondo or Porto Torres. All three marinas are ideal starting points for cruises along Sardinia's northern coast, with beautiful towns, fishing villages, first-class gastronomy, attractive anchorages and safe harbours. Perhaps the biggest attraction of the area are the national parks and marine reserves, led by the beautiful La Maddalena archipelago.
Perfectly equipped and modern boats
At Yachting Sardinia, they truly pamper their fleet. All the boats (sailboats and catamarans) are designed in detail to offer clients an unforgettable sailing experience. Moreover, the fleet is regularly renewed and expanded, with 10 beautiful boats added to the fleet in 2023 alone, from the brand new Dufour 37 to "His Majesty" Bali 5.4.
Whatever type of vessel you choose, you can set sail without any worries. Quality and all-round service has long been a top priority for the company. All its boats are in perfect condition. In addition, Yachting in Sardinia's clients can rely on technical SOS assistance available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the season.
From northern Sardinia it's only a short distance to the southern shores of Corsica. The unspoilt coastline between Corsica and Sardinia is surrounded by deep turquoise sea and beckons for sailing. High white cliffs, enclosed coves, romantic beaches and the magical islands and islets of La Maddalena Park in the Strait of Bonifacio will transport you to paradise! But beware! Even for experienced sailors, this area is an adrenaline challenge. Get inspired in our article Untamed sailing in the south of Corsica and the Strait of Bonifacio. For beginners we recommend sailing in a completely different part of Italy: the Gulf of Naples, we promise you will be impressed there too.
