Marinas in all attractive locations in Greece
Greece has long been one of Europe's most popular tourist destinations. The country is loved not only by classic beach holidaymakers and history buffs, but also by sailing enthusiasts. After all, Greece has the longest coastline in the Mediterranean Sea (13,676 km) and many islands and islets, 227 of which are inhabited.
Sun Yachting Greece marinas are strategically located in the most attractive yachting destinations: in Athens, Lavrion, Mykonos, Paros, Lefkada, Corfu, Rhodes, Kos, Skiathos and Volos. So you can choose whether you want to explore the Saronic Gulf, the Cyclades, the Ionian Sea (either north or south) or the Dodecanese archipelago.
What kind of skipper's licence to take to Greece?
To charter a boat without crew, the Greek authorities require at least one valid captain's license (not Croatian), plus one experienced crew member as a second captain on board. Sun Yacht Charter recommends that at least one crew member holds an RYA certificate or equivalent.
Holidays on a boat without a skipper's licence
With Sun Yachting Greece, even those without a skipper's license can enjoy the ultimate sailing experience, as it offers skippered charters for all boats in its fleet. The captain and professional crew will take care of all the tasks related to sailing, navigating and mooring the boat, so you can relax and enjoy a great sailing holiday in Greece!
Tip yachting.com
The Aegean Sea is the most popular choice of sailors who go to Greece. The main reason is its easy accessibility from Athens, but also its mild temperatures, steady, usually predictable winds, absence of tides and strong currents. We have 3 tips for the most beautiful weekly itineraries along the east coast and Greek islands. However, we recommend the Aegean Sea to more experienced crews, as meltemi winds sometimes complicate sailing here in summer.
