Do I need a skipper's licence to charter a boat?

To charter a boat, a valid skipper's licence is required. If you don't have one, you have the option to rent the boat with a professional skipper. Simply indicate this when you make your booking enquiry, and we will be happy to match you with a qualified skipper.

What skipper's licence do I need?

The answer to this question can be complex, as licensing requirements differ depending on the country where you plan to charter a boat. For instance, a licence that is accepted in one country may not be recognised in another. Additionally, some countries require that you hold a licence issued by your own country of residence. What are the pricing packages you offer?

What is the difference between the Economy and Premium price packages?

The Economy Package guarantees you an unbeatable price on the market. The Premium Package includes BASIC deposit insurance and offers flexible payment and partial refund options.

Is insurance included in the price of the boat?

Insurance is included in some of our pricing packages. The Premium package, for instance, includes BASIC deposit insurance. You can also upgrade to EXTRA deposit insurance for an additional fee. See our insurance price list for details.

What is the difference between BASIC and EXTRA deposit insurance?

Opting for EXTRA insurance lowers your deductible to only 10% of the deposit amount in case of a claim, as opposed to the 20% deductible with BASIC insurance. How much will EXTRA deposit insurance cost me?

If you opt for EXTRA deposit insurance, you'll only pay the difference between the BASIC and EXTRA insurance rates. Do I need to take out cancellation insurance?

What is the cost of cancellation insurance?

The cost of cancellation insurance is 5.5% of the total boat rental fee. More details are available here.

When will I receive the insurance documents?

After making your initial payment or deposit, our customer support team will email you all the necessary insurance documents.

How do I add extra services, such as an outboard engine, early check-in or a paddleboard?

For the smoothest experience, specify any additional services you'd like when you initially accept our offer. Alternatively, email us at support@yachting.com to add these services later.

How do I confirm my boat reservation?

Confirmation of your booking is secured upon receipt of the first payment by the deadline specified in your contract.

Is it possible to pay online?

Absolutely, you'll receive a payment link via GoPay in your contract email. Reminders for subsequent instalments will also contain this link.

Can I pay by bank transfer or deposit?

Yes, both payment options are possible. Bank details can be found in the contract.

How much is the tourist tax?

Tourist tax typically ranges between €1.33 and €2 per person per day and is payable directly at the marina upon arrival.

Is the tourist tax included in the boat rental price?

No, the tourist tax is a separate charge payable at the marina when you pick up the boat.

When and where should I fill in the crew list?

You should complete the Crew List approximately 14 days before your journey starts. You'll receive an email link to complete it; please submit it at least one week prior to your charter.
