Bavaria 40 Cruiser
Medium sized sailing boat from the popular Bavaria shipyard. The fact that this is a very popular model is evidenced by the fact that in our search engine you can currently find around 100 pieces, which is really quite a lot. If you live sailing, there is the possibility to rent more boats and have a one-design cruise or a mini friendly race with your sailing friends.
Capacity and equipment
Sailing can accommodate 6 to 8 people, depending on the internal layout. The boat is suitable for one larger family or two smaller ones or for a group of friends. Most models offer two bathrooms, which allows for a certain amount of privacy, but it's not a luxury comparable to a catamaran where each cabin has its own bathroom.
However, the boat doesn't have a very large water tank capacity, so we don't recommend it for longer cruises without stopping at the dock to fill up on fresh water. This is more of a cruiser ship, so suitable for exploring the coast and islands.
The sailboat has two steering wheels, so even when heeling, the steering will be comfortable, as the helmsman can move from side to side freely. However, there is only one rudder blade. Depending on the particular model, boats are usually equipped with a fairly large baden plat, bow thruster (auxiliary manoeuvring engine), heater, generator, solar panels or additional boat. Most are also equipped with a plotter (coordinate recorder) in the cockpit. However, it is always important to ask the dealer about the equipment of a particular boat when booking, as individual pieces can vary considerably according to the owner's wishes.
Where can you sail from?
Most of our Bavaria 40 Cruisers are in the classic destinations, i.e. Croatia, Greece and Italy. However, there are also specialties in the form of the Bavaria 40 Cruiser Luna in the Netherlands or the Bavaria 40 Cruiser Ma in Germany. There is also the Bavaria 40 Cruiser Almina in Turkey or the Ruck Zuck in Spain. Why not try less traditional sailing destinations too, right?
