Vasilij Žbogar is a Slovenian yachtsman who has participated in 5 Olympic Games, winning a total of three metals, two silver medals and one bronze. He is also a two-time European champion in the Laser and Finn class. Vasco started at the age of eight in the Optimist class, before switching over to the Laser class and then the Finn class. Other achievements include winning the Mediterranean Games in 2005 and at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, he proudly became the Slovenian flag bearer for the opening ceremony. Highest achievements: 1st place in the 2003 European Championships (Laser), 3rd place in the 2004 Athens Olympic Games (Laser), 2nd place in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games (Laser), 1st place in 2012 European Championships (Finn), 2nd place in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games (Finn)
