Bavaria 45 Cruiser
The Bavaria models are among the most popular in the charter industry and the Bavaria 45 Cruiser is no different. As the name suggests, it is a cruiser, i.e. designed for leisurely cruises around the coast and pleasant summer holidays.
The Bavaria 45 Cruiser is a relatively heavy, stable, stocky boat with a solid hull that can hold up and offers plenty of comfort, but don't expect much in the way of sailing performance or agility. On the other hand, she's very safe and doesn't heel too much. For this reason, she is not entirely suitable for racing sailors looking for power, trim and a race with the wind. Most Bavaria 45 Cruisers have a furling mainsail, are slow to get going and slow to react due to their heavy weight. Therefore, it is definitely not a boat suitable for regattas.
Capacity and equipment
The boat can accommodate 7 to 9 people in three or four cabins. Three bathrooms are standard on almost all of these boats. You will have no shortage of space and privacy, and you don't have to worry about sailing with people you don't know or are shy about.
Most of these boats offer a bow thruster and you'll find the standard amenities on them, i.e. a fridge, dinghy, plotter (coordinate recorder), sprayhood (cockpit canopy), baden plateau and more. For detailed equipment, please ask our salesman when booking your boat. Some specific pieces also have, for example, solar panels or heating.
An additional gennaker sail can be rented for some Bavaria 45 Cruiser. This may sound ironic to more experienced sailors, given that the emphasis on Bavaria boats is more on stability and sails are not the main draw. Don't expect a Bavaria to be 100% equipped to carry this additional sail. But if you are expecting rather lighter winds and still want a good sail, we definitely recommend the gennaker. You'll have a lot of fun with it and your "Bavaria" will show you what it's all about.
Where can you sail from?
Traditionally, most Bavaria 45 Cruiser models can be found in Croatia, Greece and Italy. If you're looking for more exotic landscapes, you'll find the Bavaria 45 Cruiser Southern Star in Thailand, the B45-2 in Sweden, Akilina in Tenerife, Ivanna on the party island of Ibiza or Provence in picturesque Mallorca. We offer iBullut in Turkey or Bavaria 45 Cruiser Futuro in the Netherlands.
Bavaria Yachts
The history of this shipyard dates back to 1978 and has gradually become one of the most famous in Europe and the largest in Germany. Experienced ship engineers, tradition in shipbuilding and perfectionism are its own. The company prides itself on the careful selection of workers and therefore the high quality of the workmanship of the ships. It chooses materials to be as suitable as possible. The shipyard produces sailboats, motorboats and now catamarans under the Nautitech brand.
What distinguishes the Cruiser range?
The Cruiserrange is characterised by comfort, equipment for circumnavigating the islands around the coast and is recommended more for family holidays. The C series strives for better handling, performance and sailing enjoyment. The C series has a specially designed V-shaped hull for a better ride.
The most popular Bavaria Yachts models
Boats from the Bavaria brand are some of the most popular on the charter market. They offer good value for money and are equipped with everything you need for a relaxing cruise. These boats are therefore not very suitable for racing or professional sailing. Nevertheless, for example, the Bavaria 46 Cruiser has the option of hiring a gennaker. In addition to the aforementioned Bavaria 46 Cruiser, some of the most popular models of this brand are the Bavaria 41 Cruiser or the Bavaria C45.
