Your journey will begin on the eastern side of the Göta Canal in Söderköping. Söderköping is considered to be the city of ice cream, and many of the films based on Astrid Lindgren's books have been filmed here, so the setting may seem familiar. Continue on to the unique technical feature on the Göta Cana — the cascading locks in Berg. Also stop at Motala, home to Sweden's largest sandy lake beach. In Vadstena, your last stop before heading back to Söderköping, visit the oldestSweden's oldest town hall and Vadstena Castle, which is one of the best preserved castles on Swedish territory. There is a harbour right in the castle moat.
