Start your boating adventure in Söderköping, a city on the shores of the Baltic Sea in the south-eastern Swedish county of Östergötland. Söderköping closes the Göta Canal from the east. The biggest attraction in the city is the ice cream parlour Smultronstället, where you can taste 60 different kinds of ice cream. When you've had enough of tasting ice cream, take a stroll around the local harbour. From Söderköping, sail towards the cascading locks in Berg. From there, continue towards Ljungsbro, where the Cloetta chocolate factory is located. In Motala, located on the eastern shore of Lake Vättern, fast car enthusiasts will find the Motala Motor Museum, which has several hundred exhibits of cars, motorcycles and racing cars. There is also a stunning beach in Motala, so if the weather cooperates, don't hesitate to visit it. This whole route is interwoven with a network of museums of various kinds, you just have to choose.
