Stone has become an important city especially in terms of infrastructure, it is the transport artery of the area. Several times a year, it is also the venue for various festivals - the Food and Drink Festival and the Farmers' Market, to name but a few.
Shakespeare and the Zoo
There are many tourist attractions around Stone. Be sure to visit the birthplace of England's most famous writer – W. Shakespeare, Stratford upon Avon. Animal lovers can visit one of the zoos in the area – Chester Zoo with over 12,000 animals and Drayton Manor Zoo, which includes a children's theme park. You can also take a ride on the Churnett Valley Steam Railway or visit one of the clog factories - such as the one in Barlaston. If you prefer to admire architectural masterpieces, visit Coventry and see the famous cathedral.
A cruise through the British countryside is peaceful and intimate, but it's also very adventurous. The local narrow canals look like something out of a fairy tale. You'll get to experience England from a completely different angle.
