Sailing on the Lipno dam
Visit an important recreational location near the Austrian border, Lipno, or if you prefer, the Lipno Dam. Our largest reservoir was built in the 1950s and provides a body of water strikingly reminiscent of the sea. The exotic atmosphere is enhanced by the presence of several small islands, the largest of which is called Taiwan. Unfortunately, you won't be able to see this island because it is home to a nature reserve protecting rare flora and fauna.
The nature of Šumava only illustrates its uniqueness. Lipno is also a paradise for fishermen and water sports enthusiasts. On the banks of the dam there are comfortable recreational resorts and wellness centres. You can go on trips with your family or a group of friends to the surrounding villages and smaller towns. If you want to see the local unspoilt nature from above, visit one of the majestic lookout towers. Active individuals will also enjoy the miles of cycle paths that invite you to pedal. If you're a skater, take your in-line with you. So what do you think? You can enjoy a full-fledged boat holiday here too. On Lipno we can also offer smaller sailing boats without a license.
