From FPP's base in the Polish village of Rybina, sail to the town of Elblag, which boasts historic buildings. A walk through the historic centre of the town will be a nice change to your cruise. Then sail towards the Crusader castle of Malbork. Gniew, the southernmost point of your route, is a small town on the left bank of the Vistula River boasting very well-preserved medieval buildings. From Gniew, head towards the city of Tczew. The penultimate stop on your route is the city of Gdansk, the capital of the entire region. World War II began on 1 September 1939 in the vicinity of Gdansk, on the Westerplatte peninsula. On this peninsula, a monument was built in 1966 dedicated to the brave Polish soldiers who defended the Polish transshipment point from German troops for 7 days. In Gdansk, visit one of the local fish restaurants and take a stroll along the Old Town waterfront. This walk will make an amazing impression on you.
