In Ray-sur-Saône we find a fortified castle rebuilt in the 18th century. Its English gardens are also very beautiful.

But if you're sailing along the Vosges Canal, a waterway leads you through the Vosges forests with a specialpast birch, beech and hornbeam trees to the remarkable towns of Fontenoy-le-Château and Epinal.
From Dôle to Besançon, the Canal du Rhone au Rhin flows between sloping cliffs and forested slopes.
An impressive 394-metre-long tunnel leads to Besançon, allowing passage under the citadel and a detour around the town.
