Racing Yachts Review

Racing yachts are used in competitive boat racing. The hull of a racing yacht can be crafted from fiberglass, steel, wood or composite depending on where the yacht is designed for use. The keel fin is typically made from casted stainless steel. The average size of a racing yacht is between 30 and 46 feet. Custom models are available up to 100 feet. The racing yacht will have a CAT motor that is around 875 hp. The racing yachts are usually powered by twin inboard motors. Racing yachts are designed for people who the sport of marathon type racing and maneuvering the craft around water based obstacle courses. The design of the racing yachts try to accommodate the latest desires of their consumers without adding additional weight to the craft. Amenities are sparse on the racing boat in order to reduce the surface area required for the crew. Included amenities focus on the styling of surface areas and required components such as titanium stanchions and plating, visible surfaces faced with teak, and large spray hood/cabriolet over forward cockpit. Formula and Hunter are both known for producing quality racing yachts. Used models are available for around $25,000 while newer models run well over $600,000.
