Sea Ray Yachts
The marine industry giant, Brunswick Corporation, has been the parent company of Sea Ray since 1986, and the two companies make up the largest recreational powerboat provider in the world. Based in Knoxville, TN, Sea Ray produces more than 40 boat models that fall within the 17’ to 60’ range. Sport Boats (17'-30'), Sport Cruisers (24'-37'), Sport Yachts (38'-51'), and Yachts (52'-61') make up Sea Ray’s rather large and varied catalogue of powerboats that are all constructed of fiberglass and composite materials. Founded in 1959, Sea Ray has received such awards as the “Best Bet” award from Boating magazine for the Sea Ray 230 Fission, a “Best of the Year” from Motor Boating magazine for the Sea Ray 43 Sundancer, and “Excellence in Design” awards from Trailer Boats magazine for the Sea Ray 230 Sundeck and Sea Ray 270 Sundancer. In terms of pricing, Sea Ray requires potential new-boat customers to call for price or fill out a form online. On the other hand, many pre-owned Sea Rays are available, and prices vary greatly. For instance, a 68' 2004 Sea Ray Sun Sport is $1,050,000, while a 21' 2001 Sea Ray Signature is only $19,995. A 31' 2002 Sea Ray Sundancer at $112,000 can be considered about the average for pre-owned prices. Lacking in the fishing boat department, Sea Rays are geared for leisure, as reflected in a recent Boating.com review: The smaller boats can comfortably hold five people, and larger ones can easily have a seaside party. Plus, additional amenities create an atmosphere of comfort and luxury.
