Carver Yachts
Partners Charlie Carter and George Verhagen
began their boat-building concern in a Milwaukee garage in 1954. Starting as hobbyistw and quickly becoming
professionals, the partners have continued to build boats in Wisconsin to the
present day under the name Carver Yachts, and have achieved standing in the
industry as a leader in the sport-yacht category. In 2003, Carver acquired a manufacturing
facility in Fano, Italy and embarked on a collaborative effort with European
designers to produce the Nuvari Yachts line.
The same year, Carver of Wisconsin introduced its Marquis series of
yachts which were hailed by an appreciative public as a sweet combination of
sleek Italian design and mid-western American ingenuity. Features which owners and reviewers appreciate
in Carver vessels are their responsive handling, the proprietary Carver Docking
System which facilitates easy in and out of even the tightest slip, and the
flawless craftsmanship of the luxury vessels.
While Carver’s Marquis series incorporates European design elements, all
the yachts feature domestically available replacement parts which make repairs
much easier. Carver Yachts range in
length from 36 to 56 feet, putting them in the sport yacht category of luxury
craft. With pricing for new yachts ranging
from $270,000 to over 2 million dollars, and used Carver Yachts priced from
just below $200,000 to over one million, these beautifully crafted, luxuriously
appointed yachts target an upper-income market.
