Henry Morschladt and Michael Howarth founded Cabo Yachts in 1988. Prior to the formation of the new company the pair had owned a sailboat company. The formation of Cabo was a result of the men’s love for sports fishing and their desire to build boats that would be designed with fishermen such as themselves in mind. For the first few years, the company worked on design and by 1991 they had created a boat that was well received and that put them among the top builders of sports fishing boats. While the founding fathers of the company are no longer at the helm, the company still builds their boats with fishermen, and their preferences, firmly in mind. Bait tanks, livewells, tackle storage areas, bait prep centers, and insulated fishing boxes are all designed to be conveniently located and reliable. Attention to detail is not limited, however, to fishing accessories. Cabins are roomy and luxurious, the control deck is a high tech oasis with instinctive controls, and all components are custom designed and built in order to maintain the high level of excellence expected of Cabo boats. To price a new Cabo one must contact an authorized dealer and select a model, length, and preferred options. Previously owned Cabo boat prices vary but range between approximately $200,000 to over one million dollars depending on the length, model, and year.
