Used Bayliner YachtsOrin Edson is the founder of Bayliner and he created a legacy of affordable boats because he believed that everyone should be able to enjoy boating and actually be able to afford one. In 1961, he purchased the Bayliner name and began business in Bellingham, WA. Three years before buying Bayliner, he was selling used power boats and plywood boats in a dealership. Edson was such a great salesman that he became a dealer for Mercury and sold outboard engines, as well. An entrepreneur and boating enthusiast, Edson built the boating company into one of the largest boat manufacturing companies of its time. He spent 25 years perfecting the yachts and throughout the years he remained convinced that everyone should be able to afford a quality boat. One of the best values in boats is the 175 Bowrider and it is still on the market now. Very affordable, new ones run around $15,000 and is well worth the money. In 1986, he decided that he would sell his company to Brunswick and he made $470 million from the sale. Brunswick has a long list of marine companies, so Bayliner would be in good hands and continues to produce the highest quality boats possible. |
