Sailing Yachts ReviewSailing yachts are small and compact in size when compared to other types of yachts. Some people call the sailing yacht a weekender due to the limited amenities and shelter provided by this yacht type. Only supplies for a few days can be carried and stored aboard a sailing yacht. Fiberglass or composite material is usually used in creating the hull. These are commonly found in races and other recreational and leisure time activities. A common size range of a sailing yacht is between 19 and 120 feet. Many sailing yachts are now known as hybrids which means the smaller yacht has an outboard motor and the larger sailing yacht has twin inboard motors. Outside of racing, most sailing yachts are desired by people who the like the calm and quiet of still waters and moonlight. Only a few amenities are offered with the sailing yacht as the focus is on the comfort of the ride. Some sailing yachts that are made for world travel only offer a few amenities which has created a comparison to camping out in the wilderness. Alden Yachts and Bennett Brothers Yachts are both known for producing quality sailing yachts. Used models are available for around $200,000 while newer models run well over $1,500,000. |
