Yellowfin Yachts Review

Yellowfin Yachts was founded by Alf Stessl in the 1980's in Saratosa, Florida. The yachting company was taken over by Telwater at which time the Yellowfin yacht faded from the waterways. In the 1990's Yellowfin was brought back due to the popular demand. Yellowfin Yacht creates its yachts through a process of composite laminates consisting of 100 percent vinylester resins and a Core-Cell composite. This is suppose to give the craft additional strength without adding weight. The company sells direct which many contribute for YellowfinYacht's success during slower economic markets. With no dealers, the buyers are able to purchase their yacht directly from the manufacturer who can talk them through everything the buyer needs to know.

Pricing

Yellowfin Yachts are priced comparably to other yacht manufacturers in their target market. They do offer the yachts directly to the public which some owners tend to like. New Yellowfin Yachts can be priced by contacting one of their sales personnel due to the number of options that affect pricing. Used Yellowfin Yachts from 2009 can be found for around $157,000. Used Yellowfin Yachts can be found priced at around $120,000 and older models are priced lower but this depends more on the model, size and features than on the year of the yacht.

Pros

  • Yellowfin Yachts has a history of building quality products.
  • Yellowfin Yachts has their own manufacturing facilities and sales offices.
  • Yellowfin Yachts usually has plenty of models available so there is little to no waiting time between placing the order and picking up the yacht.
  • Used Yellowfin Yachts are widely available.

Cons

  • Some owners say Yellowfin Yachts do not have as much storage space as they would like for their fishing gear.

Featured Models

Yellowfin Yachts is a manufacturer of skiffs, bay boats, and center consoles. Owners like the motoring power of Yellowfin's 36 foot center console model. The yacht comes with a triple outboard direct injections 2-stroke motor that uses gas or petrol. The hull is fiberglass. The bay boats are typically around 24 feet and are powered by a single outboard gas or petrol motor. The hull on the bay boats is also fiberglass.

Conclusion

Yellowfin Yachts sells their water craft directly from their manufacturing plants. People interested in purchasing a craft from them can tour the facility, which many people seem to like. The owners of Yellowfin Yachts state they are and will continue to be repeat customers due to the durability of their current boats. The yachts are made through a composite process that laminates pure vinylester resins to Core-Cell composite for added strength at the same weight point.
