Ugo Codecasa Yachts Review

The history of the Codecasa Company began in 1825 with the opening of the Codecasa Shipyard by Giovanni Battista Codecasa. Several generations of the family have continued in the business. The Codecasa Ugo S.P.A facility sits in Viareggio Harbor Marina, just 20 minutes outside Pisa, Italy. The company states the use of advanced technologies and acute care goes into the realization of their constructions. The Codecasa shipyards build luxury boats with steel hulls and aluminum superstructures. Occasionally, they make an all aluminum ship. The Ugo faction of this large company supplies yachts that range for 98 to 295 feet in length. Yachts Magazine awarded Codecasa Ugo their “Best Design” designation for the 164-foot variety of vessels.

The company provides a comprehensive design portfolio. Among the most notable is the Motor Yacht Esmeralda. Designed by Ugo Costaguta and Giuseppe De Jorio, this vessel sleeps 22 passengers and 19 crewmembers. The ship construction is steel, allowing it to reach a maximum speed of 15 knots fully utilizing the Mak engines and twin screw propellers.

The new grouping offered by Codecasa Ugo is The Vintage series. The Vintage 42-meter features six cabins and an additional four designated as crew quarters. The steel and aluminum combination is classic Codecasa. The full displacement of this ship totals 390 tons. The main engines are Caterpillar classifications with two “S” class propellers.

Codecasa Ugo creates high-end yachts designed for multiple passengers and crew. Due to the size and varied options, pricing for a new unit is per order. Because of the high-end nature these yachts, listings for pre-owed vessels are rare. Purchases of this magnitude would likely go through a broker.
