Rayburn Yachts ReviewWhen the Rayburn family began the venture to make quality yachts, it was a small Canadian yard that struck their interest and they decided to purchase the yard in 1998. Ron Rayburn had been building small boats like runabouts and fishing boats for years before he decided to go into business with his son to make Rayburn Yachts. One of the favorites among the models is the Rayburn 88. It has hydraulic stabilizers that are powered by a pump on each main that drives warping winches, a Maxwell anchor and a 36 horsepower bow thruster by Wesmar. Inside the engine room, there are two separate entrances from each side; one through the watertight transom hatch and the other comes from the amidships master. Walking through the wooden doors that are acoustically insulated you can access the starboard and port main fuel tanks. In there, you can find transfer pumps and fuel manifolds, which there are four individual fuel tanks altogether with backlit sight gauges. The ventilation system is immaculate which draws air from the external soffits through very powerful fans into the separate starboard and port systems. The air from the aft exhaust fans flows over each of the engines and goes out of vents that are located on the bridge. In case of a fire on the vessel, there are dampers that will actually seal the space off for your safety. PricingPricing varies for the Rayburn Yacht line, but can run anywhere between a few thousand to over a million, depending on whether you buy a new or used one. The Rayburn 88 has a base price of about $5.8 million and is considered well worth the money by satisfied owners. Used yachts by Rayburn can be purchased locally or by online order for a reduced price and can also be a worthy purchase. Pros
