McKinna Yachts ReviewThe headquarters for McKinna Yachts is located in New Port Beach, California. The company has two dealer locations in California and one in Florida. The company pays great attention to detail in all aspects of yacht manufacturing. The product line has recently been completely redesigned with the help of Juan Espinosa, Donald Blount, and Howard Apollonio. The newest McKinna yachts have an elegant and modern feel. The interior and exterior design, by Espinosa, feature open spaces and efficient use of space. Within the cabin exotic wood is used for the portions with veneer, detailed joiner work is displayed, and leather and granite are featured predominately. Many of these details were previously found only in the larger, and much more expensive, yachts. Blount and Apollonio both have extensive experience in hull design and engineering and have been working to improve the yacht line. Some of the improvements include enhancing the space on the deck, improved maneuverability, increased speed, and enhanced ride quality. McKinna Yachts have been built for years by the Lien Hwa Yacht Yard in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Established in 1978, Lien Hwa Boat Yard has an excellent reputation in the industry and has worked with numerous yacht companies to help them bring their creations to life. It is one of the largest boat yards in Asia and has continued to expand and improve throughout the life of the business. More recent McKinna Yachts, however, are being produced in different yards. PricingNew McKinna yacht prices range from around $900,000 to $2.5 million. Used McKinna Yachts can be found from between about $30,000 to well over $1,000,000. Pros

Some of the post popular models throughout the various lines include 69’ Pilothouse with Cockpit, 60’ Skylounge with Cockpit, and the 62’ Sport Yacht with tower. ConclusionMcKinna does not yet have the reputation of some of its competitors, however, there has been a growing interest in the company over the past few years. Many positive reviews and articles have been written about the new models and customers seem well satisfied with their yachts. The resale value remains high and the prices for new yachts are moderate. McKinna yachts are a good choice for enthusiasts who want a nice yacht, one that is a few notches above a basic beginners yacht but not quite custom built. |
