MaritimeConcepts ReviewMaritime Concept and Construction, commonly called MCC, is a shipyard based in Hong Kong, China. The company collaborated with designer Ron Holland to create the Marco Polo Series, which became an award winning yacht in 2007. After winning the International Showboats Award, Maritime Concept and Construction solidified its stature as a motor yacht company comparable with other manufacturers currently designing yachts. The Marco Polo series is intended for yachters who want to explore the world by boat. The 45 meter yacht is built to accommodate up to ten passengers and eight crew members. The separate engine rooms of the Marco Polo series allow the yacht to maintain acceleration even if one engine room floods. The deck design has ample storage for boaters who want to bring along dive equipment, jet skis, a dinghy, or even a small automobile. These features cater to the globe trotters who need a variety of transportation and extras for world travel. Maritime Concept and Construction believes that serious yachters prefer their Marco Polo series because the boats are designed to handle any sort of weather conditions, from the balmy waters of the Bahamas to the frigid waters of Antarctica. The yacht features state of the art planning and navigation systems, along with the ability to plan and organize trips from the ship. There is also a commercial grade galley, gym, master suites, full bar, and dining area. One complaint amongst yachters is that the overall exterior look of the boat is reminiscent of old workboats. The company’s use of a matte finish for the hull is not rated highly by people wanting a luxurious looking exterior as well as interior. PricingMost retailers of Maritime Concept and Construction’s Marco Polo series have undisclosed pricing. However, these yachts are multi-million dollar vessels. A pre-owned 45 meter Marco Polo yacht costs around $21,000,000. Pros

ConclusionMaritime Concept Yachts has a reputation of manufacturing luxurious yachts that fare well on open water all over the world. Very few people have any negative experiences to share about the Marco Polo series. And the main negative complaint concerns the boats looks rather than its function and performance. By combining the design ideas of Ron Holland and the building skills of Cheoy Lee, Maritime Concept Yachts has garnered a reputation for building yachts that provide accommodations and features for world travelers. |
