Kazulin Yachts ReviewSummaryKazulin Yachts has been in operation for over seven generations. It is a family-owned company. Currently, it is a Canadian company that does all its work in-house with its experts and artisans. However, Kazulin Yachts did not originally begin in Canada. It began in Croatia. Simon was the first Kazulin family member to get involved in boat building. He and his son Mike built many of the early wooden boats. This continued until the 1960s. During that time, Simon and Mike shifted and worked in Washington state. Simon’s youngest son, Velko remained in Croatia and continued building wooden boats until the company diversified in the 1950s. Velko is credited with developing the first fiberglass boat in Eastern Europe. He also built a 20’ barcha, termed a “modern retro-style” boat. During the 1970s, Velko and his son Tony brought the company to Vancouver, British Columbia. They launched the Mistral (first luxury speedboat). In 1986, the Continental line emerged, leading to a dramatic rise of international interest. The 1980s were marked by the creation of the Classic and the beginning of exporting Kazulin boats to the United States, Japan, and Europe. The SportCruiser was showcased with the Classic. At the turn of the millennium, Kazulin produced the Adriatic, a large, single-engine runabout. PricingNew Kazulin boats generally cost six figures. A new 2010 Adriatic is priced at $157,000.
