Edgewater Yachts Review

Summary

Located out of both Jacksonville and Orlando, Florida and started in 1992, Edgewater Boats or Edge Water Yachts now has more than 100 employees, a 94,000 square foot manufacturing facility, and has been engaged in a partnership with the North Marine Group for over twelve years. The company markets its product to customers interested in both the aesthetic value and practical performance of their craft. In fact, according to the company, their original design goal was to create a craft that would outlast, out endure, and keep boaters safer than any other craft on the market.

The Edgewater line encompasses center console, bowrider, runabout, and cuddy cabin designs. Sizes range from feet, their basic center console design, to their more elaborate 17 feet 10 inches 388 Center Console. The 388 Center Console has received positive reviews from a several different sources. Yachting Magazine, for example, feels the craft builds on the positives of previous Edgewater designs to create a better craft. The yacht combines designer Michael Peters’ original idea with Edgewater hallmarks of workmanship. Those interested in a quality yachts may want to look at the 388 Center Console, although those interested in something simpler will probably want to consider other Edgewater Yachts.

Conclusion

Edgewater seems to receive mostly positive reviews. In fact, very little negative exists about the company. However, this lack of negative information should not encourage wholehearted acceptance or trust. Boaters should do their research before investing. For one thing, the company has been in business less than twenty years. This short amount of time gives them little opportunity to build either a solid or negative reputation. However, during that time, they have established some amount of credibility in the boating world. Many yachters may find that Edgewater is the company for them. As with any major purchase, all potential Edgewater Yachts owners should some research about the company before purchasing.
