Dyer Yachts ReviewSummaryThe company that makes Dyer Yachts says it has quite a track record, having been building boats since 1930. One of the first boats built was the 10’ Dyerk Dink, followed by the 9’ Dyer Dhow. It wasn’t until 1949 when the first fiberglass version of the Dhow was made. Today, fiberglass is pretty much the standard material for boats and yachts. Dyer Boats has four main types of yachts: Dinghies, Glamour Girl, Dyer 29, Dyer 40. Both the Dyer 29 and Dyer 40 can be custom made to fit the customers’ desires and specifications. The company says that it tries to focus more on quality than volume. It has a big cockpit, which is actually bigger than half of the boat’s length. A fiberglass engine box is made to reduce the noise the engine is emitting. The boat can have several amenities, including an icebox, stainless steel sink, and a Formica countertop inside. However, the Dyer 29 is not nearly as trendy looking or as modern as many other boats are. PricingYou can find a 2006 Glamour Girl that’s about 16 feet long and weighs about 1,300 pounds for about $30,000. A Dyer 40 that weighs about 18,000 pounds and can hold about 300 gallons can cost about $650,000. One of the smaller Dinghies can cost only about $3,100. Pros
Cons
Featured ModelsIts Dinghies include the 7’11’’ Midget, the 9’ Dhow, the Classic 10’ Dink, and the 12 ½ Daysailer; then there’s the Dyer Glamour Girl, the Dyer 29 Center Console, the Dyer 29 Extended Hard Top model, the Dyer 29 Down Cast Hard Top Model, the Dyer 29 Soft-top Model, and the Dyer 29 Flush Deck Bass Boat, and the Dyer 40. ConclusionDyer Yachts seem to take pride in their vessels, and the company does have a good number of at least somewhat affordable options. But that’s not to say that Dyer Yachts can’t be expensive – a Dyer 40 can cost about $650,000. Compare that to a 2006 16’ Glamour Girl, which can cost about $30,000. The boat is not the most trendy looking in the industry, but Dyer Yachts do make an effort to have at least a few basic amenities. |
