More than thirty years later Steve and Linda are still designing, though their vision has shifted just a bit. Dashew Offshore specializes in long range cruising yachts that are built tough to withstand extreme weather and rough seas for extreme offshore cruising without a complete crew. The same design standards that go into the FPB series for extreme conditions also benefit the everyday cruiser. The same design characteristics that give these yachts the ability to recover from a knockdown or to steer up wind so well will also give the most comfortable ride in more calm waters.

The Dashew Offshore principle is to build yachts that are reliable, simple and rugged. These designs allow for averages of nine to 10 knots and a fuel capacity that allows for crossing the Atlantic twice before having to refuel. The FPB Series is also designed to surpass the Lloyd’s Special Service Rule with twice the requirements in hull plating and framing as well as the rudder system.
