Cantieri Di Pisa Yachts ReviewSummaryOn the banks of Tuscany’s biggest river, in Limite sull’Amo, Cantieri was born in 1945. Gino Bini and Antonio Sostengi had their first success in the Cantieri Shipyard in 1950, with a line of vessels developed for the Italian Police. In 1956, Cantieri opened a second shipyard, the Cantieri Navale Italiano yard, built in Porta a Mare. This yard was built with building bigger ships in mind. This prestigious branch of Cantieri has built over 600 vessels, most being motor driven boats. In 1957 Cantieri began building yachts. They first launched the Tyrsa, which is a 20 meter ketch designed by Bruno Veronese. This was the first boat of this type to be launched in Pisa. In Pisa they also launched the famous Capitano Black in1959, said to be the last boat to be built by the Pisa Shipyards. Cantieri is alive and well, in 2008 they came out with the Akhir 135’. The Akkir is the new style for Cantieri and the distinct lines can be seen in the whole line; 90’, 108’, 118’, 135’ and 153’.
