Bennetti Yachts Review

Benetti yachts is an Italian yacht building and ship building company that is based in Viareggio, Livorno and Fano, Italy. It is currently owned by Azimut, a Turin-based company. They also designed an manufacture motor yachts and have won the “shipyard number one” award granted by Showboats International magazine, six times. It was originally founded in 1873 by Loreno Benetti, who purchased the Daresna Luca shipyard and in turn founded Benetti. His initial goal was to build commercial vessels and craft and his original lines included Mediterranean trading ships. He later branched out to include fishing boats. After his death in 1914, his sons, Gino and Emilio, took over the business. They renamed the firm Fratelli Benetti. They continued their father’s dream of building commercial boats but expanded production to include ocean-going craft and yachts geared for private use. During the Second World War, Benetti manufactured medium sized military ships but production was limited due to bombing in the area of the factory. In the decades that followed, the company continued to expand, moving from building wooden craft to steel construction. It was in the post war years that they designed the line of yachts that would make the company a worldwide name: Delfino, Tirreno, and the Mediteranneo. In 1980, the company fell on hard times and it was bought out by Azimut, who renamed the company Bennetti Shipyard. In the 1990s, the company expanded yet again to accommodate indoor building.

The Bennetti Tradition line is, as its name implies, a line of traditionally inspired yachts. Its models have a fiberglass hull is 99 feet long, and is powered by the Caterpillar C18 engine. Its maximum speed is 15 knots. Bennetti’s Classic line is similar in design to the Tradition line, but it incorporates a larger and longer hull, with lengths up to 143 feet and is equipped with a more powerful engine. The Vision series offers a more modern style of design that measures up to 143 feet. It features a classically inspired, yet contemporary, style of shape and exterior. Its last, best known series, is the Bennetti FB, a line of superyachts and includes the Amnesia, I Dinesty, Wind and Ailbella models. They are known to provide its owners with the highest standards of luxury. Several well-known customers of this line include Adnan Khashoggi, a Turkish businessman, and British billionaire, Phillip Green.
