Beneteau Yachts Review

Founded in 1884 in Croix de vie in France by Benejamin Beneteau, Beneteau yachts are well loved for their classic lines and design aesthetics. Now headed by Benjamin Beneteau’s granddaughter, Madame Beneteau Roux, its American manufacturing site is in Marion, SC. Beneteau USA is one of the best and most successful sailboat builders in the world. It is one of the most popular makes among serious sailors, and it is considered the premier builder of 30 foot plus yachting craft in the US. The design and manufacturing team strives to craft a number of different, yet exquisite, 31 to 50 foot sailboats that are known for their performance capabilities. Beneteau boats has distributed sailing vessels around the world, from Chile to Japan. Its modern 250,000 square foot manufacturing facility in South Carolina creates up to 7,000 vessels each year. They work only with the best known naval architects and designers and use the most advanced propriety technology available. This allows the design team to achieve the best designs possible. The US plant incorporates automation into the building process thus saving time on production to bring the customer the best value. The construction process begins with each mould being sprayed with a gel coat for added strength and efficiency. Each section of the hull is laid with fiberglass to ensure that it is of the most appropriate thickness for added safety. Beneteau USA is perhaps best known for its Beneteau Series, a line of sailing craft that is a favorite among sailors. The Beneteau Flyer 12 is considered by sailing enthusiasts as a design success, and the consensus within the sailing community is that it is an outstanding example of craftsmanship. Their First Series is a line of thoroughbred racing cruisers that incorporates functionality with elegance. The First 40 offers striking performance. Featuring a slatted teak helm and a luxurious cabin, it measures at just over 40’2”. It offers generous cockpit space and wide side decks that boasts an anti-slip design that offers a stable and fast ride. The First 40 comes equipped with a hull that is constructed of hand-laid GRP that is bonded to a structural grid and hull liner for superior strength and durability. Its deck is rigged with a standard 9/10 anodized aluminum mast and boom and a keel that is stepped with double spreaders. It also has a rigging run from back to the cockpit, a single backstay with a hydraulic adjuster and two twin-braided genoa sheets. The First 40 is fitted the latest in plumbing technology including rotomolded freshwater tans with manifolds for tanks selection and a fresh water pressure system.
