Alsberg Boats Review

Alsberg Boat Works was begun in 1998 by Alan S Berg Junior, who was interested in developing a classic style boat that drew inspiration from years past. The company is based in Florida in the USA, where Berg has spent much of his life and has developed much of his boating expertise. Alsberg Boats specializes in producing boats that are designed to replicate the look and feel of the 1939 Century Thunderbolt, which is a rare classic boat that still invites awe today. Offering a modern replica of this boat designed by architect Harry Schoell, the Classic Speedboad produced by Alsberg mimics the look of the Thunderbolt whilst incorporating modern technology such as its patented Delta Conic Hull and a modern wetted surface. Alsberg Boats also produced a second type of boat, which is known as the Nitro and was also designed by Schoell. The boats have received a range of positive reviews in publications including Yacht Trader, Boat USA, Boating, Classic Craft, and European Boat Builder.

While the original Nitro and Classic were single cockpit models, the company has broadened its range to include double and triple cockpit versions of the original models, as well as 21' and 25' models. The models currently available boast Mercury Sportjet engines ranging from between 175-240 horsepower, and can obtain speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. There are also diesel options available. The boats are designed for dry, smooth boating on lakes, bays, and offshore waters.
