A Lithuanian family has recently accomplished the feat of sailing around the world. Andrius Varnas, his 28 year-old daughter, and her boyfriend finished the voyage in two years and two weeks. Andrius is an experienced yachtman who built their yacht, Ragaine II, a 10 meter-long yacht. His daughter, Rasa, has been sailing since her teens and was the captain for the trip. The crew practiced sailing safely, taking their time, and studied yachting along the way. Before sailing in a region known for piracy, the crew arranged to sail in an international, U.S.-led military flotilla, which kept them safe. After completing the journey, the family encourages other families to also try sailing around the world safely. Yachting enthusiasts can learn about different yacht types like ocean yachts.
