Holland Yacht Crosses First But Loses

Holland’s Sufficient Reason crossed the finish line first in Section 03 of the Chicago to Mackinac race, but finished second to Flying Jenny VI. Before starting the 333-mile course, each of the 375 boats went through a rating system which determines how fast it is capable of sailing, and the handicaps are applied to the elapsed times to determine the winner. Flying Jenny VI of Maryland finished with a corrected time of 44:44, while Sufficient Reason’s was 45:46. For those who are interested in yacht racing, there are many yacht types available, such as Tiara Yachts which is based in Holland.
