The 51st annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is in town and lots of yachting enthusiasts are already enjoying it. One of the world’s largest yacht brokerage collections, Northrop and Johnson has brought 24 amazing superyachts to the show. The 45m Vita and the 43m Kingfisher are just a couple of them. South Korea may not be known for its yachting industry, but Yacht and Boat Korea 2010 was a big success, especially among the marine industry. With 155 exhibitors and international companies representing 19 countries, the event was attended by 120,000. Furthermore, more than 100 sales contracts were signed bringing in more than $8.4 million. Although the event ended on October 17, many more sales are expected to be made from positive sales leads. Largest U.S. Yacht to be Featured at Boat Show

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will feature the largest yacht built in the U.S. since the 1930s. Making its debut at the world-class boat show, Cakewalk is 281 feet with six decks and six guest staterooms. During the show, it will be docked at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina. Cakewalk was built by Derektor Shipyards and is currently ranked 38 on a list of the 100 largest private yachts in the world. Free Boat Show Tickets for Captains and Engineers

Yacht captains and engineers who are interested in attending the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show may claim a free ticket. The 150 one-day tickets have been donated to The Triton from Ward’s Marine Electric, Imtra Marine Products, and Furuno USA. The tickets can be picked up at the Triton offices on October 27-29.
