Sunreef Introduces New Yacht

Rising yacht manufacturer Sunreef Yachts has introduced their newest model, Sunreef 58 Sailing, set to be launched early next year. This luxury sailing yacht will be built with composite materials by vacuum infusion, and it will comfortably accommodate 8-9 guests in 4-5 cabins. Sunreef Yachts displayed their first superyacht, the Sunreef 102 IPHARRA, at the Cannes boat show. Boat lovers were also able to check out Sunreef Yachts at the Monaco boat show, and will get another chance at Korea’s Yacht and Boat Show on October 14-17.

Yachts Go Green

Those who visited the 20th Monaco Yacht Show had the opportunity to see hundreds of yachts and superyachts from various yacht manufacturers. A small portion of them exhibited the growing trend of environmental sustainability. For example, Exuma is a newly launched motor yacht that has a unique aluminum hull that reduces fuel consumption. Feadship yachts has designed a yacht that features special paint. Yachts can also be put on a yacht carbon offset scheme that reduces greenhouse gas emissions.

World’s Largest Hybrid Electric Sailing Yacht in the Works

Hybrid methods of transportation are becoming more popular. Now, the world’s largest hybrid electric sailing yacht is steps from completion. International Battery and Electric Marine Propulsion have partnered to build a hybrid power train for a 60-foot Tag Yachts catamaran. Named Tang, it is the world’s largest hybrid-electric sailboat. Not only will it be energy-efficient but it will also offer more luxury amenities than most luxury yachts. Tang will set sail later in the year and be featured in a boat show early next year.

Longest Yacht Built in U.S.

When it comes to yacht building, yacht manufacturers are always pushing the boundaries with bigger yachts. Derecktor yachts has recently completed Cakewalk, a 281-feet and 3,000 gross ton luxury yacht that is the longest and most spacious yacht built in the U.S. since the 1930s. Built for Charles Gallagher of Denver, Cakewalk cost over $82 million and will debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Cakewalk is number 38 on Power & Motoryacht ,magazine’s 2010 list of largest yachts in the world.

Yachts Expected to Sell at Lido Yacht Expo

The 32nd annual Lido Yacht Expo is taking place at Newport Beach until September 26. More than 200 yachts will be on display, from motor yachts to trawler yachts to the most lavish luxury yachts. Some yacht manufacturers, such as Sunseeker yachts, will be unveiling new models like the 74-foot Predator. In past years, approximately two dozen yachts were sold at the Lido Yacht Expo. Innovative designs and technology should be expected, as exhibitors agree that it is important in staying competitive in the yachting industry.

Greenwich Harbor Yacht Showcase

The 5th annual Greenwich Harbor Yacht Showcase will be held at the Delamar Greenwich Harbor Hotel on October 2-3. There will be a kick-off party on October 1. In addition to viewing the luxury yachts, visitors will be able to sail on the 12-meter yachts for a fee. A new feature of the Showcase, there will be many exhibits featuring luxury products and services. Yachts of Seabourn Launches Third Yacht

Those who are interested in new yachts may have heard about Yachts of Seabourn’s third luxury yacht, Seabourn Quest. While its official launch is set for June 20, 2011, it will take two pre-inaugural voyages in 2011. For the pre-inaugural voyages, there will be a three-day roundtrip cruise from Monte Carlo and an eight-day cruise from Monte Carlo to Barcelona. The Seabourn Quest has 225 luxury suites, six bars and lounges, and four dining venues. Fans of superyachts have many opportunities to sail on new yachts around the world.

Fincantieri Launches One of Largest Yachts

Fincantieri Yachts has recently launched their first megayacht, the “Serene.” This 134 meter yacht is one of the ten largest yachts in the world. It features seven decks, a large sea-water swimming pool, two helicopter pads and a hangar. The 4,500 square meters of interior space, part of which was designed by Pascale Reymond, is the epitome of luxury. Cannes Boat Show Provides Hope for Boating Industry

The 33rd annual Cannes International Boat and Yacht Show has come to a close, leaving many optimistic about the future of the boating industry. The Cannes show featured 400 exhibitors from 34 countries over six days, and boating enthusiasts from around the world were in attendance.
